Okay, I have yet to see the first episode of this, so should I start watching it now? or beg my friends to tvo it for me and rent the first season at Blockbuster?

Yes. I mean, it's up to you, but the background of all the people on the island is really important. I would get someone to record it for you - I don't mind doing it if I can figure out the VCR. Rush out and rent the first season and catch up- cause you don't want to miss out on this fantastic show. It really raises the bar.

I'm as "lost" as the people stranded on that island... I just have NO clue what's behind all this.

I have learned to record it even as I watch, just in case someone interrupts me, and thank goodness I did, because I did get a call from a very dear cousin. Besides, I like to be able to watch the taped version, so I can constantly rewind and play it back to make sure I'm not missing something vital...and yes, the X Files rocked, but Lost RULES!!!!!!!! If you haven't seen it, you need to rush out and get caught up NOW!
