Hard at work.

Look at it. Isn't it beautiful? Yeah, I know there's no stem. Shut up.

Boo!
great pictures.....and your pie looks really delicious! I am so impressed!
Posted by: aunt j at October 19, 2005 12:12 PMWe love pumpkin carving too. We love Halloween at this house. And I agree that the pumpkin pie looks wonderful. The mini-pumpkins are edible too and quite delicious. We roast them every year at Thanksgiving.
Posted by: John Allen at October 19, 2005 01:01 PMHalloween's all about the costumes. I'll make sure Megan gets plenty of pics for me to post on my website after our Halloween costume party. Not that most of them will be recognizable... Unless you play video games a LOT.
Posted by: Gatlin at October 19, 2005 01:28 PMJA, how do you roast the little ones? They're so cute, I almost feel like it's cooking a puppy or something.
Oh, and small world- my grandfather, father, and brother are all John Allen's! Weird!

We use a recipe that we got from Food & Wine magazine years ago. It has maple syrup and butter in it, I know, plus the obligatory spices. It is really really good. I'll dig it up an post it on my blog.
